I cannot believe I can run Media Center as a server for my 4 Netgear MP101's! I purchased this program not even knowing all these absolutely amazing features exist. I was worried that using FLAC would hurt me once I wanted to get them going but this has on the fly encoding to mp3! Exactly what I would only have dreamed of.
The question is about which encoder people see as the best for a slower computer. I will be running Media Center on my secondary server which is only 180MHz. It seems like the Faster CBR MP3 encoder is the fastest because on my P4 2.8GHz, I see 0%-4% CPU usage while streaming and that is about as low as it ever gets. Other settings usually take about 40% of my CPU, which wouldn't work on my slower server.
Last question--is there a watch folder feature where Media Center will automatically add files that appear in certain folders?
