Title: Renaming Files in Mass
Post by: sundevilkid85 on June 16, 2006, 03:23:59 pm
I have a myriad of files that have a [track name (2)] under the name field in JRiver. I can't figure out how to create a playlist that would allow me to just select these particular songs (any search on *(2) returns nothing) so I can see what needs to be renamed.

or...

If anyone knows of a plug in or utility that will allow me to update any track that has (2) in it to rename it without the (2), that would be even better.

Select All Files

Select Correct Field

find and replace

"(2)" to ""

Or

name="(2)"

should get you a list

Selected all, Right clicked, when to Library Tools, Find and Replace, typed in find (2) and replace I left blank and that worked. Thanks. Close enough that I could figure it out.

Still couldn't figure out the playlist but not a big deal now.

well all you need to do is select the files and send or create a play list

you may have been using the wrong field

were you looking in

Name Or FileName for "(2)"

if you type in name=(2) with out quotes it will not find it for some reason

but if you type name="(2)" (with quotes) mc will find it

i tested it.
