Title: Updated Remote Server (testers wanted)

An updated version of RemoteServer is available here:
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/tmp/RemoteServer.dll

Copy this file over the top of the RemoteServer.dll in your MC directory.

This version (1.6) fixes several issues with unsafe threading causing a crash or hang.  It also streamlines a few functions, and fixes the server being slow to shutdown.

Please let us know if you encounter any problems with this version.  Thanks.

 I just did a fresh install of the latest trial, copied the dll over the original one, and although the first page loads correctly, everytime I click on a link, MC is crashing with a nasty popup.
So, to sum up, it's worse than before  :)

Yup, same here. Main page loads fine. I click on "Media Library" and IE just spins and spins forever and nothing ever happens. Go to the remote PC and there's a C++ Runtime Error. Once you click OK on that, MC just closes.

Sorry about that guys.

Try the build that's up now.  Make sure the date shows this morning. (IE's cache sometimes gives the old file instead of the new file)

much better :)

After playing with this version, I still had a crash, but it's much more stable than before.
At least, the clicking stress test is now ok.

The 'non english characters' issue is still there though   ;)

This one seems to be running perfectly here. Before, I couldn't get more than a couple of clicks in before it'd crash. With this one, it worked great!

Hi

I checked the change log of the recent version of MC, and it seems the fix to the remote server has not been added.

Any special reasons to this ?

Hi,

i agree.
i'm new at MC (new installation of 11.1196) and had big problems with remote server (crashes)...
Everthing works fine with the new RemoteServer.dll.
