If I buy version 8 of your software, do I have to pay again for upgrade to version 9 ?

I think you get at least one free upgrade to a newer version.

JRiver has no official stance on this yet. I'd wait for purchase until they make an annoucement.

Previously, if you bought a version of MJ, you got the next major upgrade for free. There's nothing definitive about that in regards to 9 yet, though.

Doof is correct.  We will announce the pricing within the next two weeks.  Right now, version 9 will work with a version 8 license.  Probably even with a version 7.x license.
