Although there covers are inside the files they fail to show up in the display. I have run the Import function and allowed it to rebuild thumbnails with no noticable improvement and it seems to rebuild them again next import.
How can I fix this?

Do you have it set correctly?
Go to Tools>Options>File Location>Track Images Location and
pick how you want your images to be displayed.

aoxomoxoa, long time, no see!
check your 'thumbnail exit behaviour' setting too. you know where that is, right?
-
yes, hello
It is set to keep the thumbnails yet it seems to always build thousands of them and takes forever. Worse is they still do not appear after all that. I have applied the cover art manually to many but that is too tedious for many thousands of albums.
Funny to see the image tag show an image filename, yet no thumbnail. Re-assign image and thumbs will appear, but uncertainty as to them staying remains.
thank you for your kind helps

When you say "thumbnail", do you mean cover art (not image thumbnails)?
Do you have the view set correctly? Try ctrl-u multiple times.
Corrupt library?
Location set under options/file location/track images?
Otherwise, no idea. I think that's why nobody is answering.
