I use Media Center mostly for audio and don't need/want tags (of any kind)
How can I disable tags, or at least disable auto tagging.

I use MC for mostly audio too but I don't understand exactly what tags you don't need. Being able to tag your songs with ones like Genre, Date, and especially Name, Artist, and Album are are pretty much necessary. Can you please clarify which tags you don't require?

If you want to delete some library fields, you can go to Tools - Options - Library and try deleting the fields you don't want.

You can disable Update file when info changes
You could also go to library options and edit every field to not be stored in the files.

Then MC will keep all info solely in its library database.

Be certain to keep a good backup of the library if you run 'naked'

Go to tools -> plugin manager -> input -> for mp3's you can disable tags and 'remove existing'.
