Title: MC 12 Really Needs a Library Backup Button
Post by: datdude on July 28, 2006, 10:07:08 pm
... to put on the toolbar.  Make it one click, without having to browse to a folder.  This would be sweet.  The auto backup that MC 'seems' to do daily would be seperate.

Why would you need a button?

What is wrong with it now?

What are the advantages and disadvantages?

If there was a manual backup what options would it have?

Well I don't know when exactly MC makes a backup on its own, it seems to do very irregularly.  I'm human and sometimes I forget to make a backup myself especially if it is hidden in the file menu.  If it is more obvious on the toolbar, I would do it more regularly.

The key is that it is one click, so you don't need to choose a file location, it just does it all in one.

The other option is to be able to schedule it.  The obvious benefit is that you can then forget about it and do other better things.
