Don't take it as anything. I am sure the beta testers are under a strict NDA at this point.
Also the issues with the 360 and streaming are all due to Microsoft's decision to use a non-standard, proprietary solution. They want to force you to buy their Windows Media Center OS to get full use of the 360's capabilities.
What I did (for the short time I had a 360), was create a network share as a removable device. Then using a custom field to flag them, I synced the tracks that I wanted to play via the 360 to that device as MP3s. Used the MS media connect software to share that folder to the 360.

Why would one want an X-Box ?
..best reason i heard to date is so you can play your own music while playing games.
Any better reason(s) ?

Play games...
with your friends over LIVE...
while sitting on your couch...
in HD...
on a 65" HDTV...
with full surround sound...
for <= the price of a graphics card upgrade...
and no messing with video card drivers, graphics card to TV issues, etc.
I take it you haven't had the chance to check out the 360 on a good HT setup?
Of course, I don't have one right now - since none of the first 3 that I bought made it past 2 months. The last one only lasted a couple of days before I realized one of the exhaust fans wasn't functional. Right now, I am back to regular XBox while I wait for the next round of great games to come out or my friends to make the jump.

I have a 360. It's great. I used to do PC games, but got tired of all the problems in compatibility and never liked using the keyboard instead of a gamepad. Playing XBox on a 60-inch HDTV is truly remarkable. Plus, having friends over to play on connected TVs is well worth an evening.
There is a thread if you search where there is an official answer that the 360 doesn't work with MC because Microsoft doesn't use uPnP (or something).
Of course, with little kids now I don't get to play any more...

Right..play games, not useful in any other context.
I was thinking maybe an inexpensive, lightweight way to control MC.
