Title: Central database with multiple listening locations??
Post by: Glen on September 13, 2002, 11:24:54 am
I have not used any of the more fancy functions of MJ other than as file library and playback engine but have recently been wondering if this is possible and if so then how?
Main system in the basement with all of the media on numerous drives, and two or three pc,s around the house all on network. Run MJ on any of the listening systems but be able to get to the music files on the  main system??
Thanks for the help.
Glen

You can do that.  Try the Help file on Media Server.  Or search here for discussions of Media Server.  You'll need a current version (same one) on all machines.

Does Media Server pass out the cover art along with the streams ??

It was this limitation that made me map a network drive to all my clients and run seperate MJ databases (and manually mirror my cover art) around...

Having Glissando running all over means I want cover art display on each client machine...

Can i do this via Media Server ??
