Title: External Drive letter
Post by: toddler on September 13, 2002, 09:19:55 am
I keep all my MP3's on an external firewire drive.  With a recent machine upgrade, the drive letter has changed from F to G.  I keep the MJ library with the files, but the library has F: hard-coded in it.  Is there any way to avoid this?  It would be nice if the library did not contain the drive letter and defaulted to the drive of the library files.

Is there a way in MJ to update my library files to reflect the drive change?  I will probably just end up doing a search and replace in the jmd files, but wondered if there is a more elegant way.

Yes, rightclick on your LIBRARY ( ya know in the top of the root ) and choose UPDATE LIBRARY!

It will remove all non-excisting files...in your case..many.

Then you need ofcourse to Import all your files from your Firewire again, but the library is cleaned!

Thanks for the prompt reply.  Rather than re-import everything, I just searched and replaced F: with G: in the mediafiles.jmd file, all seems to work.
