All:
I am making the transition from iTunes >via Airtunes to MC11/MusicLobby.
Previously we were streaming audio to remote zones using hardwired AirTunes units.
With the change it appears I need to find a new remote zone streaming solution. Seeking best advice pros/cons of various devices that work with JRiver/MuLobby that can be
Hard-wired Ethernet
Stream excellent quality audio from JRiver server to remote zones.

Hi There,
We have worked with a few different uPnP devices and most work fine, but I have seen issues with devices at various firmware levels.
MC is great as it will transcode which gives you much more freedom on the UPnP device, obviously with possble issues on overall quality and CPU usage.
When you picked musiclobby did you assess netremote? what were your thoughts between the two solutions?
Thanks

Actually chose MC because of the integration with MainLobby. We wanted a consistent look and feel across all applications. Otherwise I would have just stayed with iTunes.
Did not examine NetRemote.....

Well NetRemote and Girder do a similar thing, probably worth a look

with the same gui as ML?
It's all about the interface.....look and feel. iTunes has the "function"......but not the pretty face.
ML has a consistent look across all the screens, weather, HVAC, security, etc.....which is why the choice to add media to the interface.
