Title: DSP Studio Replay Gain does not seem to work
Post by: Kjell Arne Johansen on September 12, 2002, 01:22:31 pm
Hi guys

I have been using MJ for a few years and is very satisfied with the product.
Please remember you developers its okay with fancy stuff as long as you can keep the best quality on the sound produced.

Now my problem.  It looks like that the Replay Gain control does not work, -or?
I assumed when I enabled the Replay Gain control it would bring all my mp3s to the same sound level when I played them but there is no difference.

-or is it all in my fingers?

Regards
Kjell Arne

You have to analyze your files first.

Replay Gain doesn't work on-the-fly, it's a two-step process. Your mp3 files need to be analyzed (once) beforehand so that pertinent data can be recorded (in the MJ database) for each file. This data is used by the replay gain plug-in to adjust the volume upon playback. Select the files you want to analyze then go to Edit|Properties. In the Properties window, select Tools|Analyze Replay Gain...

After your files have been analyzed, be sure to enable Replay Gain in the DSP Studio (click the rightmost button in the player window).

REplay gain does not work with mp3pro files.

BTW when will a plugin be released?

It would be nice ad option to analyze the replay gain of every new file on the library automatically.

Cheers.
