I can connect to my JR Media server in my main listening room from my bedroom pc, but once I click on a song title I continually get the following error. I have tried downloading new Direct X drivers, etc... but nothing seems to work. PLEASE HELP. THANKS !!!!
"Failed to play..... Saving Grace.Wav.
You may not have installed on your computer DirectShow filters for decoding the type of file you are trying to play.
Please install the appropriate filters and try again."
What ARE the appropriate filters ?
and
WHERE can I get them?
THANKS IN ADVANCE for any help you can provide !!!!!

The filter requirement for WAV type is really simple. I am supprised that you actually got this error. The most important filter is Wave Parser, which is included in DirectX installation.
Not sure why it would fail. Maybe your system is somewhat corrupted. You may want to try reinstalling Microsoft DirectX.
Are you able to play Wav files in Windows Media Player?

Media Center will play local *.wav files on my bedroom pc.
However, my main pc has the majority if my *.wav files.
Therefore, I've been connecting via Media Server plugin, and playing music (*.wav files) from my main pc.
However, I keep getting that original error I posted earlier.
It doesn't seem to make sense to me that I can play local files, but not via the Media Server.
I can successfully use Media Server via my laptop computer (same fashion as my bedroom pc).
Thanks for your response. I tried reinstalling Direct X, which did install successfully, BUT, I still keep getting the same error.
Maybe I will need to uninstall Media Center, and reinstall it.
THANKS AGAIN !!!

Local files are played using WAV input plugin, which can not handle streaming. Streaming is handled using DirectShow.
