Title: Renaming files using date...
Post by: Michel Lefebvre on August 23, 2006, 11:14:05 am
Hello all,

I've been away from the Internet for the last half year but that hasn't stopped from using MC11.1 like crazy.

I've embarked on a project to scan and catalog all my pictures a few years ago. To date, I have 13,000 pictures in the database.

I use the Rename feature in MC to put the pictures in a folder that corresponds to the date and the event i.e.: \[year]-[month]-[day]-[event].

Prior to a few months ago (Say March or April when I downloaded an update), remaming using this rule a picture that was tagged with the date of 8/23/2006 would create a folder \2006-08-23-Event\.

Now MC11.1 renames it as 2006-August-23-Event\. This makes it difficult to view the folders in Windows Explorer as it sort alphabetically. So August appears before March or July. When the month is written as "08", this problem of course does not occur.

As I said, I have been away from the board for several months, so I may have missed something but I've searched and scanned all tittles for the last 6 months and I can't find anything about this.

Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance.

Michel.

Bump...  ;)

I tried the latest version (.194) and the issue is still present.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Have you tried using "Date (filename firendly)" ? That'll follow the format:

[Year][Month][Day][Time]

Then you could attach [Event] to the end of that.
