I have been playing with the Sound Recorder in MC and am trying to determine the best way to handle recording streaming audio. Seems there are 3 volume settings that can be used: Window's Mixer, MC's recording, and the program used to play the stream. The Auto setting can't really be used because the entire stream isn't there. Is there any rule of thumb that can be used other than trial and error?

Did you consider ways or saving the stream to disk instead of sound recorder ?
MC won't do this, but some helpful hints can be found here (http://swen.antville.org/stories/735413/)

I discovered Sound Recorder and was pleased with how well it worked. Was hoping to stay using an MC tool but will check the link out. Thanks.

BTW, the stream isn't a realaudio stream. Guess I'll either have to continue to do trial and error, or perhaps try one of those other tools listed.
