Title: Problem recognizing pocket pc device

Hi,
I have a PPC-6700 smartphone, running Windows Mobile 5, and I have paired it to sync with Media Center like any other portable device.  However, about half the time when I plug it in to my computer, the device does not show up in MC at all.  If I close MC and restart it (leaving the device plugged in), it then appears normally.
It seems like random behavior, and I can't seem to figure out what the root cause is.  Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

The WMDM system is supposed to notify us when any devices are connected or disconnected.  Sorry, but I'm not sure why it isn't working for you.

You could try running Windows update.
