This has happened twice after a bit of menu navigtion in Tivo. My view schemes are a little more complicated than default, but nothing crazy. I have not tried to recreate in v 11.1, but i never had a MC crash using tivo in many, many months.
EDIT: Tivo Server v. 1.0.29 from Plugin Manager.
Here is the message:

This seems to be happening when I click on "Playlists" in Tivo, not when I click on Audio.
-
This is continuing to happen to me, although not sure pattern.
Running 11.1 on same PC, same network, same Tivo --> everything fine.
Running 12.0.61 -- works okay at first and then at some point Tivo menus become unresponsive and then pack at the PC it has crashed.
-
I'll take a look - is it only playlists that are causing the crash? smartlists?

-
It seems to happen when navigating the Tivo menu list of Playlists.
For example, i have a long root list of playlists, so when I hit page down once or twice the tivo becomes non-responsive.
I think another example is in a playlist with a list of songs, paging down.
I do not think it matters whether static or smartlist.
Thanks for taking a look.

**** Bump ****
I am on 12.0.081 and still get this problem.
To recap, I don't have issues using MC 11.1.xxx Tivo Server but I do with MC 12.
In the latest case, I was looking at Images, navigating and got the same message. When you get back to the PC and accept those dialogs, MC crashes so you can't read the Tivo message area in MC. I looked in log files but did not see anything -- let me know ifyou want me to look for something specific in log files.
Please advise,
R.

If I DONT click on the C++ error, I can still navigate around MC and saw this on the Tivo Server information panel:
09/30/06 15:50:12 - Bad Request: Unknown Command /TiVoConnect??Command=FlushServer
Nothing I could notice in the MC logs
-
For the record, I just navigated around the Media Center menus on my TiVo with 12.0.81 and didn't have any problems. Only spent about 5 minutes though, so maybe it wasn't long enough.
-
I'll see if i can get more specifics or see a pattern. Thanks for the note though.

I tried for 20 minutes to get it to crash and of course it didn't. I got one crash that was a little different, it was a more "normal" MC crash, not the dialog box shown below.
Here is a snipet of log file before crash.....

I posted on this also here http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=36017.0
I haven't had the problem again yet using 12.0.81 FWIW.

I just started getting crashes when I try to browse MC from my TiVo. On the MC PC it says "Runtime Error! This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way." Also if I go to TiVo Server options and click "Reset Beacon" it will crash MC.

mesue,
I think most of us TIvo users have been getting that for a while with MC 12. John G. said he would look at it but have not heard an update.
(HINT, HINT -- John , any updates??)
-
Ugh… thanks for letting me know. Guess it's back to 11 for now. Has there been any mention of when 12 might become official?
-
I just took the leap to 12 with version 12.0.106.... and I get this same crash.
I wasn't doing anything tricky.
-Started MC
-Imported my library.
-Set up my viewschemes the way I like
-Looked at Tivo options, saw they were pretty much the same
-Set to convert to mp3 320 if needed
-Set name to "John's Music"
Then I went to Tivo - saw "John's Music Music" (Whoops)
-Selected this fine
-Saw option of "Audio" or "Playlists" as expected
-Selected Playlists, and got this crash.
-I then restarted and tried selecting "Audio" instead - same crash.
-
To anyone watching this thread, the crashing issue has been fixed.
-
I saw that the crashing has been fixed and I updated to the latest MC12, but now I cannot get my TiVo to show my MC music and photos. MC shows that the TiVo service is running but it's not showing on my TiVo. If I do "Reset Beacon" it prompts me to restart my computer, and I do, but it still doesn't work.
I also have MusicIP Mixer which has TiVo integration, and that still works fine.
I have a DirecTiVo that's been hacked to add networking. I've never had TiVo Desktop installed. I always just used MC or MusicIP. Any suggestions on getting MC12 working with TiVo again?

Try this:
1) Power down the TiVo Server computer.
2) Power down the TiVo.
3) Power up the TiVo.
4) Power up the TiVo Server Computer.
Let me know if this helps,

That didn't help. It said no servers were found on the network, and then when I tried putting in the IP address it still said no servers found. In MC 12 it shows this under TiVo Server:

11/11/06 16:18:51 - Trying Port 8070

I'm definitely not happy that you're experiencing this problem, but I am happy to see that I'm not the only one. Please see the post I started about my issues connecting with MC 12's TiVo server: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=36899.0.
I also tried powercycling and trying different port numbers, but it didn't help. I've used Wireshark (http://www.wireshark.org/) - the next generation of the Ethereal program - to capture some sniffs of what's going on and have sent them to John Gateley from JRiver. Please send me a PM if you need more information about how to do this.
Hope we're able to get this solved soon!

I can't find a PM option anywhere in this forum, but, yes, I would like that more information please. TIA.
