Title: MC Replay Gain settings & syncing Ipod w Itunes
Post by: nsteele on August 28, 2006, 01:19:04 pm
I have a few questions about the Replay Gain/Album Gain settings in MC when syncing an Ipod:

After using MC to Analyze Audio and establish the Replay Gain settings for a given song, can I then sync that song to my Ipod using Itunes, and as long as I have Soundcheck enabled on the Ipod, have the Ipod properly read the Replay Gain values created from MC?  I understood that these values would be stored in the same ID tag field Soundcheck uses, but not clear if I have to use MC to sync with the Ipod to get this to work.  I synced once with an earlier version of MC 11, and totally killed my Ipod (had to send it back to factory), so I'm a little gunshy.

Also, if I specify in MC options to use Album Gain, is this the value that gets read in this field by the Ipod, or does it use the Track Replay Gain setting? Thanks,

nsteele

Anybody?  Would love some advice on this matter.

recent builds of MC11 and 12beta have all been fine with my ipod and my nano.  I've never installed itunes so can't help with that part of your query.
I'd just initialize your ipod via MC and then sync smartlists.
