I am scratching my head wondering why this is not fixed.
Play Media File:
2006-08-25-R&F-CF64k.mp3
Select File:
2006-08-25-R&F-CF64k.mp3
Convert Format To Reduce Kbps: MP3Encoder
Settings: Delete Original
MC Creates:
2006-08-25-R&F-CF64k (temp).wav
MC Creates:
2006-08-25-R&F-CF64k (1).mp3
Now There Are Two Files
2006-08-25-R&F-CF64k.mp3
2006-08-25-R&F-CF64k (1).mp3
Since MC12 Played It, it becomes locked, and Is Not Deleted As It Should be.
should not MC12 unlock it's own files instead of creating problems like this, and littering the drive with debris.

I'm not seeing this. I converted a file with it playing. Seemed to work.
Does this always happen? Can you explain exactly what you're doing?
Edit: Nevermind, I figured out how to recreate.

Next build. It will stop the file from playing.

I don't think that's the only place there is an issue
If i remember correctly if you send a file to playing now, it plays, then if you load it in the media editor you have an issue.
But i will re-test after the new build is out.
This all started after the stop button was removed, and about 2-3 places this creates a problem.
I am glad\happy\grateful you looked into this, it creates i large problem for me every time I use MC to convert a file to a lower bit rate.

Yes that looks fixed, but here is another
If you play a file
then make a correction on a field (like artist)
MC does not save the data
when you stop the file from playing
mc still does not save the data
only when you play another media file will MC save the changed data field.
