Post by: drosoph on September 02, 2006, 06:03:15 pm
How do I determine what file is causing a lockup on file importing ? I get to a certain point and it locks up with only a few hundred files that its importing ... let me know .. this is bugging the heck out of me !!!

The files are huge, family movies ... only occurs on two that I converted with a tool a while back ... I'm not too worried about it .. these two files arent playing nice with most apps ... I'll let this one go.

Can you turn on logging for "Playback", "Importing" and "database" log types, and try building thumbnail on these files only, then send me a log file?

How do you build thumbnails on ONLY these files ? Especially if I can't import them ?

Oops, my misunderstanding. Can you play the file directly (such as Open Media File..., or by Explorer integration)?

Make an attempt to import the file and send me a log file as well.

As soon as I can get all these files moved around and cleaned up (183,000 right now) ... I'll run another import and pick up the last few (48,000) and see which ones crap out :)

It's really slow working with this many files ... i believe those little thumnail icons (whatever they're called, cant remember right now) are killing my performance!
