Title: Video [audio] playback issues with ASIO & SPDIF

Having previous had problems getting DTS audio working with MC ASIO to SPDIF, I got the nVidia Decoder and everything is fine.  I still have the following problem however: if I play ANY video file, like an AVI, I get no audio at all (video plays fine) until I go into DVD playback options - then suddenly the audio kicks in - like MC just then loaded the codec.  All audio-only files work just fine.  Any way I can get MC to load this codec from the beginning?  Oh another data point, if I do what I mentioned above and the audio starts - once the video file is over and another one begins, I have do jump through the same hoops.
