Title: Increase buffering for local play
Post by: Qythyx on September 05, 2006, 09:18:57 pm
Is there any way to increase the buffering of media (audio and video) even when playing locally? I'm playing off of a network device and occasionally a busy LAN causes stuttering. I think/hope increase buffering could overcome this, but I haven't found a setting to do this yet.

Thanks.

Seconded, I'd love this option as well - I've got enough free ram, so why not use it?  ;D

[edit]
I'd also like to be able to buffer more than just the track I'm playing now
At the moment I can hear a pause on 'gapless playback' when it switches to the next track which is a little bit irritating in live albums (it's a minor gripe though)

I too would like to have more control over buffer settings as well as be able to buffer more than just the track that I'm playing now... especially for video. I have my video files hosted on another computer so it always takes a while to open the next video in the playlist.

I second this emotion.  Primarily for video.

(I've asked before, but it's nice to see some support on this from others!)

I'll chime in and say I'd like to see it too.
