It Is A Sony DVP-CX995V I Also Have A Pioneer 301 Disk DVD/CD Player
however i am not sure about any connections to a computer (I did not see any)

I think that the 995 is the standalone one, and the one linked above is the 'next' generation one from Sony, designed to link to their HTPC - hence the support for Windows Media.

Hey KingSparta, I was just looking at the VGP-XL1B2 at amazon. It's down to 349.00 after rebate. Looks like a great player since you can do batch CD ripping and it has a nice firewire connection to a HTPC. Seems perfect for using ffdshow to upconvert with.
But I have a couple of questions. Can you use it to batch rip to APE? I think it uses AMG databse, is it possible to change which database it uses? More importantly, do you know if it will work with MC12 on XPpro? I use ML as a front end and if I could get them all to work together it I think it would be a perfect player for me.
