Er, how about lyrics finder for MC 12? The current version won't load into 12, possibly out of stubbornness. Any thoughts on a v12-enabled version?

Probably $$ is not the motivation here, but I would gladly pay for it if you ever change your mind.

Well... the Cover Art part of MC does not retrieve lyrics, though.

I really miss the Lyrics Finder for MC 12 too. A lot of users helped update King's lyrics database and I would like to take advantage of it for MC 12. I ripped a bunch of stuff yesterday and ended up having to go to MC 11 to run Lyrics Finder and then use MC 12 to detect external changes. Certainly not an easy way to do it.
I agree that Cover Finder probably isn't needed anymore but Lyrics Finder definitely is.

KingSparta,
I constantly rip new CDs to add to my library. I find your Lyrics Finder plug-in to be the best solution for gathering lyrics. I’m not aware of anything JR is doing that would replace the lyrics plug-in (both content & software) from you.
Currently I keep both MC11 & MC12 on my PC. I’m using MC11 to rip and manage the tags. After that I use MC12. If your lyrics finder plug-in worked with MC12, I would stop using MC11.
Please…
Randy

I agree - Lyrics Finder is what we (at least me) are asking for. There is probably no point in upgrading Cover Art Finder.

If JRiver Is Working On Making MC Better Not Sure What Would Stop Them From Adding Lyrics To YADB.
Maybe JimH Can shed some light on this if they (music industry) would allow a in house lyrics finder that would be simple for JRiver to whip Up.
Before and may still be an issue from copyright laws. If they took me to court they can only take my old blue rusty Yugo with an am only radio with a bent antenna.

There is also the content - I get a high hit rate when finding lyrics from you

KingSparta,
Just an idea, but could this plug-in be available as a lyrics site in Doof’s Lyrics Editor?
Of course Doof would have to agree, but that way you would not need to maintain the plug-in, only provide an interface.

I'd be game for that.

Thanks Doof,
It's really up to KingSpata, but this is the only key feature I need from MC11 - then I can cut ove to MC12 100%. Alot of us use KingSpara's plug-in for lyrics - so I'm sure I'm not alone.

Doof’s Lyrics Editor
I Don't think I ever used it
If doof wishes to talk about this SpartaSoft@nc.rr.com
Personally i would like to see JRiver Add "Notes", "Lyrics" etc....

I agree, but even if they do it - it will take some some + they have no content (lyrics).
Doof has created a very nice lyrics editor - maybe over engineered (he spent a lot of time making it) - those of us using it like it a lot. Even if you have lyrics, his plug-in can be used to clean them up. That's why I thought his front end UI combined with your backend database would be a perfect combination.
Anyway - I hope Doof contacts you.
-
Just did. :)
-
I look forward to some kind of collaboration so we can get great Lyrics Finding/Editing in MC 12. I look forward to testing it out.
Regarding JRiver not having any lyrics, if they implemented something, it wouldn't take long for them to have the database populated. Look how quickly cover art got submitted!

I would give them all my data

King--
Up to now I just assumed you were resting up after all your recent plugin triumphs. But maybe you just don't want to hassle with the lyrics thing anymore, it seems (and I can't blame you). So #1, I'm going to thank you again for your help so far--your plugins are the backbone of my data management.
But here's a question: this stash of 300,000+ lyric files, how big is that? Is it something that can be burned to DVD, for example? And is there any way to configure your plugin to read from that DVD as if it were the remote server?
Just thinking out loud, FWIW.

We Will See.

Anyone from JRiver willing to comment? Lyrics capability is a must have feature.
Is this being considered as a feature in MC12?
Otherwise we will keep begging KingSparta to make his plug-in compatible. ;)
-
In the meantime, I reinstalled Mr. Chriz's Evil Lyrics plugín, which failed to work here in the early builds of MC.12 but it works great now with the current builds. The plug-in finds lyrics even for recent albums, such as the new albums from Pete Yorn, Jars of Clay or Diana Krall, to name a few. Also, Evil Lyrics itself seems to have "polished" the sources.
The only downside is that it grabs the lyrics only for the current playing song and does not easily allow a batch process as King's lyricsfinder, but it does the job well.
Hopefully King and Doof may find a way to collaborate.

I hope so. Last weekend I ripped about 800 tracks - some of it strange stuff so I do not expect to find it anywhere - but with KingSparta's Lyrics finder, 700 were done in minutes. Even if Evil Lyrics finds them, that converts to a looooooong time. :)
And with a push of the button - Doof's Lyrics Editor fixes the 700 I just picked up. Life is good. ;D
So if Doof can pick up the lyrics from KingSparta by interfacing to his plug-in, he can drive it off of his many inputs (playlists.etc). So with the push of a button, I got clean lyrics in mass. 8)
Sorry for being so lazy :-[
