Title: Having Media Center Server start as a service
Post by: icanrule on September 23, 2006, 12:23:20 pm
I have selected for media center to start at load up.  The problem is that when Windows XP starts up I have to choose my identity.  I want the server to startup with Windows XP and not when I choose my identity in Windows XP.  Is this possible?

Hello,

I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but I recall using TweakUI (Powertool)
for starting up with my login name/pasword. Maybe this is what you're needing?

Best regards,

Theo

This might work for you (Fire Daemon is better but it's not free)

Make sure you use your name and password in the configuration or your settings in MC won't be loaded

Either one of the above methods should work for you. If you don't mind your system starting up directly to your desktop use Tweak UI. If you want to keep your system locked try out FireDaemon, it works really good, and it will also restart your applications that run as services if they crash which is really handy! Good luck!
