Title: Suggestion: New art; hiding a couple features
Post by: RobOK on September 24, 2006, 01:11:02 pm
I like the new art, keep it up!!!

The smartlist icon (as compared to the playlist icon) is hard to really see what symbol it is, I think its an "!".  Consider making the orange darker to give it more contrast, maybe the podcast orange color.  Or take the red color from the Services and Plugin icon.

Most major areas can be hidden through Advanced Options or thru hiding the respective Plug In.  Start Menu, Web Media, Podcasts, etc. can all be hidden.

Two things I would like to hide but cannot are Documents and Scheduler.  Perhaps Scheduler could get an entry in Plugins and Documents could be made so that it can be deleted?

I very much appreciate being able to hide sections of the program that are not of use to me!

I don't want to be clueless but if you're talking about the tree, I don't have Documents or a Scheduler. I never did anything to get rid of them that I know of, or how to get them back if I did lose them. When I first started with MC 12, I had just restored an MC 11 backup.

What's the Scheduler and how do I display it?

Hmm.  Scheduler is under Plugins and Services.

Interesting that you don't have documents.  I restored 11 also.  Maybe I needed to get rid of Documents in 11 first?

The Documents item only appears in the Tree if you have some files of the "Documents" type imported into your library.  If you "delete" all of them (remove them from MC's database) and restart MC, then it'll no longer be there.

OK, found it. I mis-read your post because it sounded like you wanted it put under Services & Plug-ins. I agree with you that I don't know why it's not in the Service part of the Plug-in Manager since AudibleLunchBox and CDBaby are there.

Thanks.... I will do that, I didn't even know i had "documents", but i think sometimes i get "log" files with EAC.

just to confirm.... deleting all documents, closing and restarting MC, made my Documents section disappear as desired.

I do too but you can't see the Back and Forward buttons at all when using the Noire Skin.  These should really change to a different color (white-ish like the rest of them for example).

Even pointing at them doesn't highlight them at all, as the other buttons do...
