Title: Stop Jump to recently ripped
Post by: joshhuggins on September 29, 2006, 09:47:50 pm
Is there a way to stop the jump to recently ripped when a CD finishes ripping? Just having it in the Smart list area would work best for me. It's constantly interrupting what I'm working on.

I agree too.

I commented on this problem in a thread on MC 12 suggestions some time ago.  I thought it was just an irritation.  I've since learned that it can cause unwanted changes to previosly ripped files.  When MC starts switching to the recently ripped file playlist, it stops accepting keystrokes in the context where you were typing.  I found out that it is interpreting those keystrokes in the new context (of the recently ripped playlist) even before it finishes updating the screen.  Once, I got a warning message about making changes to 2000 files.  Yikes!

Most of the MC user interface is well designed.  This particular feature is both wrong and dangerous.  The UI should just leave you in the context where you were.

Not to complain, but it is annoying.  Please consider changing this behavior.

Me too - it's like dealing with a child screaming for attention ;-)

But as this has been discussed many times before I wouldn't hold my breath
