Title: How does the watch folder feature work?
Post by: Uno on October 07, 2006, 02:26:18 pm
By this I mean"

Does it auto search for new media in folder when you launch MC and continue to watch the folder while its open?

Does it search only initially when MC is opened?

Or does it monitor these folder even when MC is closed?

I thinik it would be nice to have a button that simpy read "Update Libray" to manually have folder searched.

Also on that subject..  What ever happend to the excude folders options and a view of folders to include as we had in v11?  I miss those options.

Do a search on this board for "Otto" and you should find answers to everything you need.   ;D

From Matt:

It reconciles when the program is started.  This is in a background thread and only takes a few seconds.

After that, it watches while the program is running. (no scary background services while the program is closed)

Doing the watch takes no CPU cycles since notifications are built into the Windows file system.
