Title: Restricted User Problem
Post by: Lasse_Lus on October 11, 2006, 02:36:35 am
...first thanks for letting me in in the beta area  :)

second

i have had MC11.1 installed  and been running it as a restricted user
and i have had no problems with that...

the other day i installed beta version 12.087 and according to the instructions i have to set administrative rights
on that "user" start & restart...and then go back to restriction.....perfect it works

BUT...now i can't run MC11 any longer

the following message appears

and then

i Still can run MC 12 and i have to upgrade my "rights" to be able to run MC11.....(but of course i don't want to do that)

Any solution ?

third

i don't understand why this is a problem in the first place...why do i have to change the rights
on a restricted user to be able to run the program  ?
...this is the first time i have come across this in any software  :o

regards  8)

Try reinstalling MC11 again.

Maybe they were both installed to the same location?  That won't work.

nope, MC 11 & 12 are installed in different locations

this is a issue with MC...and "restricted user" and it's not working....

...and Jim MC 11 IS working when running as a admin

You'll have to pick one if you're a limited user.

When switching from one version to the other, we need full access to the registry.

Again, when switching from one version to the other, we need full access to the registry.  Limited user accounts don't provide this.
