Title: Naming rights for MP3 conversion directory
Post by: JimH on October 12, 2006, 01:32:57 pm
So, IF there were a feature that kept copies of the MP3 files when converted from lossless on the way to a handheld or a Library Server client, what woud you call it?

Our thoughts so far:

Cache Dir

Cache Deposit

Cache Vault

Cache and Carry

Cache Bar

Bus stop

Waiting Room

etc.

My personal favorite is "Lena".  Otto is lonely.

That won't make Olie very happy.

Olie & Lena jokes from Garrison Keillor on A Prairie Home Companion

Olie says to Lena, "I've been seeing those Bob Dole commercials on TV, about how he takes Vigoro. So I've been taking a teaspoon every couple days for a week now. Been wondering if you noticed."
"Olie," Lena says, "Those commercials are for Viagra. Vigoro is a fertilizer."
"Oh," Olie says. "That would explain the berries, then."

Then there was when Olie won the toilet brush in bingo down at the church. He liked it but after a week he went back to using paper.

And there was the time when Olie and Lena were babysitting, and Lena says to Olie, "Ya better change the baby's diaper."
"Not yet," Olie says. "Here on the box it says 'Up to 25 pounds.'"

Then there was when Olie was marooned on a island for a long time. By the time he was rescued, he had built quite a farm. The crew that found him ask about each building. "That's the farmhouse," Olie says. And there's the barn. And over there's the equipment shed..."
  "What's that?" they ask.
  "That's the church," he says.
  "And what's that over there?"
"That's the church I used to go to."

Finally, when Lena dies, Olie calls the undertaker. "Where do you live?" The undertaker says.
"At the corner of Eucalyptus and Hydrangea," Olie replies.
  "Can you spell those?"
"How about I just drag her down to Maple?"

I never liked cache bars when I went to company parties.

I think I remember hearing that one.   ;D

How about:

Place Where The Feature That Keeps Copies Of The MP3 Files When They Are Converted From Lossless On The Way To A Handheld Or A Library Server Client Stores It's MP3 Files.

Too long?

EDIT - Decided it would be funnier to use King Style Capitalization.

1.   Lossy cache
2.   Portable cache

If Otto is for Automatic Import, then maybe Dune for Download Export
