Title: digital secure rip faster than large buffer
Post by: CL Gilbert on September 09, 2002, 11:00:28 am
Anyone else notice digital secure ripping 112kbps mp3s faster than digital large buffer can rip 96kbps mp3s?  the 96 rips at ~2.0 but the 112kbps rips at ~3.0.  any ideas about this?

did you rip the same cd or was it different cd's?

in my experience digital secure is slower than digital large buffer.

If it wasnt the same cd, try that, in order to make a better comparison.

Was the encoding done by the same encoder or by different encoders?

Ripping and encoding is not the same, so be careful at what you compare. You could also try just to encode into wav, and check the speed there, and then move on to converting, and then make a rip and encode, to see where the difference appears.
