I Cannot burn to a DVD.
Even under test mode I am seeing 'Unknown error. Device codes: 5, 48, 5

I would have attached a copy of the log, but cannot see how to to that ... so  I have pasted it at the end. ... ooops no I haven't there is apparently a posting size limit  ::) Nevermind.

I do notice that under options, I can correctly see my burner identified, but that it apparently on =ly does one speed, Max! Should that list have to option for change, or is it a legacy issue?

Many thanks

Martin.

BTW. Whilst browsing the error log I noticed a load of podcasts... I looked under podcast and it looks like MC has been downloading stuff without me knowing.
Is this a mistake that I have made (slate magazine etc.?) or is the default for some podcasts to be downloaded. As a Christian, I find Chris Evans, for example, to be offensive and cannot understand how he, or CBS, or the others arrived on my system, nor indeed where they are stored.

My iPod nano 8gb does not work on Vista but works on XP with this version.

On vista, I get the message:
Quote
Your iPod could not be identified. Please check for an updated version of Media Center.

iPod type: , 0, 0

The serial number ends in VQT.

I had to download medica center 11.1.201 after having to do a "system restore" going back about four weeks before I actually purchased media center. Now I"m having a big problem getting my media center restored  I can neither download it by putting in my registration code online at media center ?--nor will my computer recognize the file .mjr. I'm wondering if I should uninstall and try installing it again--by again I mean that this would be the third time. I really need to get this straightened out.

I am seeing 2 related problems on my new nano:

1.  Chapter divisions in Audible files are not available on the nano (but they are if I use itunes).  If you hit next, it should go to the next chapter but it goes to the next file
2.  Bookmarks are also not working.   By this I mean, if I stop in the middle of an audiobook, play something else, and then go back to the audiobook, it starts the book over, rather than playing from the point where I last was.

I do not see these problems when I use my (ipod 5th Gen) - same file.

I tried reinitializing and reloading the nano, but that didn't help.

Most of the iPod work related to the new firmware and iPod models is being done in MC 12 only. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So...... does this mean, that if I get a new iPod for Xmas that the newer firmware will not be supported in MC11 and it will be necessary to upgrade to 12?
hmmm :(

Before getting an Ipod, I would recommend shopping around first. Check out flexibility of formats, ability to play what you want to play in any way you want it. Its use a USB drive as well. Will the Ipod except formats like some of the superior open source formats like Ogg, Flac, Moneky's Ape ? Do you have to go through Windows Media Player ?
Are you stuck using only DRM ? Quality of audio and perhaps video.
My thoughts is the the IPOD if the best marketed portable media player around, but not close to be the best at all. I think Apple wants you to fit their structure, rather than the other way around.

Jon.

Shopping is always good and rarely do the biggest names make the innovative, best for the buck, flexible and modifiable equipment.

I get the same error and issue as psyc0de posted--where my iPod Nano 4Gb Red works under XP w/ version 11.1.201, but does not under Vista.

Serial # ends in:  WL2
Model MA725LL

Any solution for this in v11?

I downloaded the v12 trial and then v12 works w/ my iPod on Vista.

Yeah maybe we could have a last build for more vista support before we upgrade to MC 12. Thanks.

No changes will be made in MC11.1 now.  Please try MC12 from the download page.
