Title: A more stable FLAC player?
Post by: benn600 on October 17, 2006, 04:05:12 pm
I don't think so.  What are my options for converting everything to another lossless format?  I am fed up with the crashing and don't want to deal with them anymore.  I prefer flac many times over any other lossless compression format because we know it is reliable and will be around for a long time--and it's the most well known lossless compression format.

What should I convert everything to so I can be done with this hassling?  I want the best possible file in the end and I am not looking forward to managing two libraries because I really need to keep FLAC around so I can switch back the second it stops crashing like it does.  I want the most stable format that exists--one that will never crash.  I am so used to MC crashing I just have gotten used to it and don't even worry about it anymore but it's getting to be annoying.  I also hate having to install a plugin.  I wish MC would add native, high quality FLAC support to MC 12.  That would instantly improve my satisfaction with MC.

Please post in the FLAC thread on the Third Party forum.  It's here:

You may be using the wrong encoder/decoder set.
