Title: Track info's and Display Window
Post by: dcwebman on October 18, 2006, 07:57:29 am
As we know, if you are running a track info and then click on something out of Playing Now like Playlists, there will be a little Display window in the bottom left that shows the track info. Most likely it looks terrible because the track info isn't designed that way.

This isn't going to change for MC 12 so I was wondering what track info's people are using and if there is one that will look good in both places. I think ideally it would look good to have the cover art shown in the small Display window.  It seems that every other display option whether it is a 3D visualization or visualization resizes itself but track info doesn't.

I use mesue's All I Need track info which is fantastic. Does anybody already use a track info that looks good in both places and has good information especially lyrics, or do we need to design one that will?

Where do you get your information?

I think he's referring to something Matt said ~ about you guys wanting to achieve a level of consistency between the main display and the little display window.

dcwebman is right though ~ this system works great for everything except track info. It really does look ugly :)

Info right here:

9. When moving out of Playing Now that has a Track info, the Display Window should display Cover art instead of the Track Info being displayed. Switching back to Playing Now would display the track info again.
We want to preserve a feeling of continuity between the small and large display.

So, we can't contradict ourselves?

Being disagreeable is no answer.

Okay, so after all these remarks, what's the bottom line? Do we need to try to come up with a track info that will work in both places or not?

Based on Jim's post, I get the impression that they're going to address this.  I would therefore wait a bit before spending any time on new track info templates.
