Title: 3g2 video file
Post by: StarBand Guy on November 04, 2006, 08:03:29 am
My stupid phone (razr) takes video which it stores as 3g2 files.

The later versions of Quicktime will play the files, but I can't get them imported into MC.  It just ignores them and will not play them.

I hate to have to convert all of these files for MC.  Does anyone know of a work around?

We'll see what we can do on this.  I just bought a new RAZR and Rick (Swellguy) has been tuning MC12 for it.

Those files are often just MP4 files with a different file extension I think (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=62723) (read item #2 in the linked FAQ).

Try renaming one to *.mp4 and see if it works properly.  You may also need to enable DirectShow playback support and have MPEG-4 splitters installed on the system for it to work.  Do a search for Directshow and my name on this forum and you'll find all kinds of info on CCCP and filters and all that.
