I noticed in MC 12 there is a new standard library field called "Skip Count." I was hoping this is what I have been asking for… a way to get a list of songs that have been skipped… but it doesn't not appear to do anything. I skipped a bunch of songs and this field remains blank. So what is it used for?

we don't know...
I asked the same question a week or so ago and didn't get an answer.
anyone know what [skip count] and [last skipped] get used for?
new feature (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=35964.0) on the horizon perhaps?

crossing fingers for that "new feature" :)

Would definitely be a great way of the program working out automatically for us which songs we dont like.

Isn't Skip Count a tag to keep track of how many times you skipped the track? I didn't think MC supported this feature.

At the moment, it doesn't.
We all have sleeper fields in our databases. Lord only knows what they will do when Matt sends the signal!!!

So how should [Skip Count] work.
the opposite of [Number Plays] ?
If a track was not played past the mid-point (or even less than that) then it's considered skipped.
