I had to do a system restore to my computer. I downloaded media center and I was unable to restore media center thorugh the interent even though I had the key from my purchase. Any suggestions--I've already used up 5 of my 10 allowed restorations. Help!

Any Messages, Or Error Messages?
-
sparta--it does restore my media center and immediately following it states restore. It just doesn't seem to be downloading into my computer. I have yet to try 'restore from file'. I figured that probaly wouldn't work because I had to do a system restore back to Sept. 29 which was before I purchased media center.

it does restore my media center
I'm confused
If you go to help, Registration Information
Is it registered or not?
It just doesn't seem to be downloading into my computer.
what do you want it to download?
If You Have a Recent Registration In A File On Your Computer Why Would You Not Want To Use That One?
When Ever You Use A Restore You Should Always Save The Registration To Your Computer And Do Any Restores In The Next 14 Days From The File. You Should Not Keep Using Your Restores From The Restore Page.

I am confused as well.

The install key should be mailed to you. You can use it.
Or use the right click work-around to save the file to your desktop and then run it.

I have a registration code. I purchased media center about two weeks ago, however I had to do a 'system restore" on my computer --due to another problem -- going back three weeks or so before I purchased. After that I downloaded media center 11.1.201 and now when I try to restore media center from file .mjr a pop-up displays "error opening file" & "error restoring media center license". This brought me to try it online by entering my registration code and this failed after several attempts also. What to do!?!

Jim, I think the links should be underlined and show color also before hovering over them. It may not be obvious that the "Restoring a license" text is a link. A traditional underlined link with blue color (when unvisited) is always the best option even if a creative web designer would like to use something else.
This page has the restore details for MC11.1: http://jrmediacenter.com/buy_faq11.html

People sometimes don't take the time to read, but it says on that page:
"Links directly above also provide
information on restoring a license."

You are correct. Even I missed that. :)
I hope rickw can find the needed info now.
