I've been looking for a way to do this, but haven't found it yet. I've got a lot of radio shows that I listen to on my iPod, and I like to have the genres set to "Radio". However, when I record/download them, they come in with things like podcast/blues/other/etc.
Is there a way, or would it be possible to get functionality added, to give a directory or location a standard set of tag information ? When it imports something X:\Music\Radio, it automatically sets the Genre to "Radio". If not built into the auto-import system, perhaps a system of rules, similar to Outlook, would be the best way to go about this.
Any interest from anyone else in this ?

There's no automatic system for this.
If it helps, you could make a smartlist like:
[Filename]=[X:\Music\Radio\"
It'll show any files from that folder. Tagging them should be quick work.

I've got a couple of smartlists very similar to that for just such occasions. Is there any likelihood of an automatic system being added in the future? I'd guess that my needs are just the tip of what that could do, considering the power of MC12's expressions/database functions.

I have requested something similar. Adding basic tags based on path/filename during import would save me a lot of time. Not for music, cause I tag and rename befor importing, but video( and pictures).
