You need to have access to an install of MC11.1 for this to work. Its easy to install WhiteCap 4.7.4 in MC12 though, and it works just fine. Simply install WhiteCap into MC11 and then navigate to:
C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 11\Visualizations
and copy the file called "WhiteCap_JMC.dll" over to:
C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 12\Visualizations
Then, download and run this REG file (which simply adds the appropriate registry entries for WhiteCap to MC12): http://www.geocities.com/ri0n/mc/HKLM_WhiteCap.zip

glynor,
I assume this is a SoundSpectrum issue, not an MC issue. Am I correct?
Based on your instructions, it should be easy to fix. I've already fully deleted MC11, or I'd just use your workaround.

glynor,
I looked around and concluded this is just a SoundSpectrum installer issue. I posted a request on Andy's forum.

It is, and Andy's already replied to an earlier post about the same thing that it'll be fixed in the next version of WhiteCap which they're going to work on as soon as the (then unknown) "new visualization" had been released.
That's SoftSkies of course, and it just was, and I imagine that when they sober up they'll start working on WhiteCap again and get us a version that works right in MC12.
Yeah... It stinks that you have to have MC11 still installed to be able to install it. MC11 can co-exist with MC12 though, so you could certainly reinstall it just to get the proper DLL file.
I'd give it out here in the ZIP but I think Andy might not like that. Gotta give respect where respect is due.

I'll give it a couple of days to see if Andy has any comments.
I could put MC11 back on the PC. I know the two versions can co-exist. I only removed it a few weeks back.
I agree you should not share the DLL file. That would not be right.

glynor,
No feedback yet on the other forum, so I re-installed MC11, followed your procedure, and un-installed MC11.
Works great - start to finish, including testing, was less than 10 minutes.
Thanks...
