Look like Mc12 Burn is a total killer
But i'am not sure to understand how Burn Session works
I have 300 giga of movies [AVI ] to burn
AVI are in a Director-movie name Explorer folder
Some are in a Director folder with movie name sub folders
Let's say i send 12 giga of data to burner [ it works , i tested= just take sometime]
How Burner will allocate the files ?
--Starting from first folder to last - A to Z ?[With Keep original Folder Structure set , of cause ]
--Do burner will split the files ?
--Or just stop to feel the blank DVD to the last file able to be put on the DVD , no matter if 500MB empty , but next file is 700MB. DVD will have 500MB 'blank'
I would like Burner to NOT split any file , even if losing 600 giga each DVD
On a side line
Any JRiver SHN in /out on his way ?

So..?
Where is the Burn gourou?
Thanks

MC will not split files during burning
MC can place the files in a file structure of your choosing
if you have tags filled in for the files.
MC will automatically ask for new disks when one disk is full,
(Parts of this are very new however so may not be perfect, hence
MC12 is a beta).
I'd imagine MC will assign files alphabetically when forced
to place some on new disks, but don't quote me on this.

The burner won't split files, it will leave blank space instead. The files are written in the order they are listed in the burn queue.

Thanks
That's cool as hell and worth an upgrade-
Until now i found only one prog doing more or less the same- More or less cause working as back-up, mean you need to 'restore' the DVD on drive to be able to use data.
Will do when back.-, update,i mean.

They DO NOT write in the same order as listed in the burn queue. Why?
-
They are written to the CD/DVD in the same order as listed in the burn queue. When you view them in windows explorer they will always list in alphabetic order, regardless of the order they are written on the disc.

That must mean my 3 home CD players and my 2 car stereos are possessed or broken? Because when I put say for example one of my MC12 playlist into the queue to burn in a certain order, then afterwards whenever I put them in any of my players their order is not the same.

As JohnT tried to explain, the file system used for data CDs is different from audio CDs. Data CDs are like hard drives. The files don't have any particular order. The displayed order is always up to the used browser (i.e. the used SW program or HW player). Normally all HW players use alphabetical order.
That's why MC has an option for prefixing the list order in the filename:

so what you're saying is that I need to manually go into those places and change the file arrangement? for data CDs that is? but that does not explain what happens when I also try to burn audio CDs. Because I once tried to burn and AC/DC CD and there was still room on it so I had added a couple songs from another album, and surprisingly those added songs from another album were mixed up in the original album structure.
