Title: It's a girl!
Post by: JimH on December 06, 2006, 12:04:29 pm: Matt and his wife had a baby girl (their first) this morning at 4:00AM. 8 pounds, 12 ounces. Everyone happy and healthy.

Btw in Norway there is a 38 weeks fully paid maternity leave and six weeks paternity leave for all, the companies has nothing to say in the matter - everything's controlled by the social democratic state. Daddy can take more of mommy's weeks if he wants to, but the other way isn't possible. All in all 44 weeks of leave. Not too bad, really.

Ours are all grown up now, only one of three left in the nest. 20-odd years seems to have flown by in the blink of an eye, and now we're grand-parents!!!

Same here, he is 30 now (next month)

I was not fortunate to be with my wife when she had our son, I was in Germany On Radio Watch, Up For 3 Days Without Sleep And Then I Got A Message From The Red Cross He Was Born. I Called Home Talked For 15 Mins To Her Mom (Sue Was Still In The Hosp) And Went Back To My Duty Station And Went To Sleep Til I Was Back On Duty. I Did Not Get Another Chance To Talk To My Wife For 3 Weeks.

He Was Still Cute When I Did Get To See Him A Year Later.

I always regretted not taking more pictures, and some of them were not on Kodak paper so many of the ones sue did take faded or turned colors.

Being able to snap at your little one makes the investment in a good digital camera all worth it. You can shoot shoot shoot and doesn't cost any money in processing. You get all those wonderful memories. Just make sure to back them up to CD and put them in a firesafe or to a grandparent off site.

Congrats again Matt. Wait about 6-10 months, they get so much fun once they get moving!

You should both definitely be proud. She's an awful adorable little pink fuzzy thing!

Our oldest dog at the time, a newfoundland, was a bit jealous when my wife came home from the hospital with our son Kevin, but it only lasted a few days. Then he got used to not being so much a center of attention anymore. Of course I still haven't gotten over that... ;)
