ChicoSelfs,

Prepare yourself for a disappointment. That board is so heavily weighted with Winamp users it ain't even funny. Too bad.

A look at Cnet downloads is going to give some indication as to why. Just peek at how many times it has been downloaded. And the fact that most of the plug-in development centers around that very same player. Oh well, their loss...

Additionally:

I see Jim had posted something there and it turned into a slug eating contest. Nice job to those guys for mangling a thread.

yup they are winamp lover's, but they can't compare winamp with a powerfull jukebox like MJ but they compare. Like you say: Their Loss

ChicoSelfs: I doubt that responses will be very positive in that forum, but it is a good way to build more awareness of MJ

Just got back from the supermarket with a bag full of limes, and rereading this thread. Thinking about it with a clearer head, the idea of a sample mediaserver at JRiver might not be quite so mad as I thought. Ive seen a few posts in here from people who obviously arent sure what mediaserver is, and I certainly wasnt until Kingsparta posted his server IP address one day and I tried it. You could use it as a worked example from the help file, and include in the library some videos and soundfiles explaining/promoting MJ advanced features etc. If I understand v9 correctly (and I havent tried it yet), you can have a playlist with synchronised sound and images. That sounds to me all you need for an audio/visual tutorial. Dunno about the practical aspects of this, though.

The Media Server demo is a good idea.  I'll have to think how.  It would take a Windows machine that is always up, and there are some security issues.
