Title: Problems Ripping CDs
Post by: joemccrary on June 06, 2003, 05:09:11 pm
I'm trying to rip some CDs I just bought. As soon as hit the copy button, the CD Drive spins for about 3-5 seconds, and then stops, and the CD Copy box does nothing until I hit cancel, when it then locks up on me.

I'm using a Toshiba Satellite notebook with a combo drive and Windows XP home. I've updated to 8.0.399, downloaded the ASPI drivers, tried different options with ASPI and generic drivers, and unchecked the Windows XP control over ripping.

I am trying to rip Metallica's new CD. Do you think Lars could have done something? ;D

I changed the encoding type from Ogg Vorbis to MP3 VBR and it seems to be working now. So apparently the problem has to do with the Ogg Vorbis encoding.
