Title: "Failed to load skin file" trying to use old skin

I made a skin for MJ8 quite a while ago, and not surprisingly it doesn't work in MC11.  When i use the Skin Browser to apply the skin it gives me a 'Failed to load skin file' message box.  Any ideas on what i need to do to get it up to date?  or what the error could be?

and no state.xml is created so its getting stopped before that point..

If you open the 2 skins in text editors, can you not see the difference, and thereby update the skin for MC use?
