Hi. The VMR setting on the DirectShow video playback options page is new to v12. While for a lot of video content it looks better with this enabled, I'm finding that for some content, it looks much worse - dvr-ms files for instance. Also, without vmr enabled, playing back my xvid encoded avi's don't show any OSD in MC while the same file wrapped in an mkv container is fine.
What would be great is if you could enable/disable VMR based on the video filetype to be played. Is this a possibility please?

I am ahead of you this time ;)
This feature was already implemented in build 129.
1. Changed: Video Renderer selection for DX Video Player is now moved to DirectShow Filter Selection window. You can therefore select different video renderer for different file types. "Video Mixing Renderer 7" also becomes one of the possible choices.

Oh what!?! How did I miss this I wonder??
Thanks very much. An excellent feature indeed! :D

Note that VMR7 is now a possible choice. Previously it was either VMR9 or legacy Video Renderer.
You may want to experiment with VMR7 for your DVR-MS files. I am quite sure MC11 uses VMR7 since it is the default video renderer on XPs. Unfortunately there is not much control over it, unlike VMR9. Therefore I am not sure if it will give you any added benefit. I know you WILL lose one benefit - color control (brightness, contrast, etc.) - VMR7 simply does not have it.
