Title: JRThumb.exe error message
Post by: gpvillamil on December 14, 2006, 08:32:16 am
I am getting this very strange error, I suspect it has something to do with JR MC. I have just finished importing a bunch of videos, and I suspect the error comes from the process of building thumbnails.

A dialog with the following text pops up sometimes when I give MC focus:

ActiveMovie window: JRThumb.exe - Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because mkunicode.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

As you guessed, JRThumb.exe is used in the thumbnailing process.

Mkunicode.dll is one of the Haali Matroska Splitter files. You could try to reinstall the splitter (or the filter & codec pack that installed it).

Frickin' Haali...  ::)

You can download the latest build of Haali (currently 29/10/2006) from here: http://haali.cs.msu.ru/mkv/

That did the trick. I reinstalled the Haali filter and disabled *everything* except the MKV splitter. It has a shell extension for thumbnailing which is just a nightmare.
