Title: Remote Control of MC Server
Post by: Mithrandir on December 17, 2006, 01:27:24 am
Hi,

I am currently using my MC "server" to provide playback in several zones in my home.  I would like to know if it is possible to control the server's instance of MC with other instances of MC installed on other pc's around my home.  The library server will not work, as I need the playback to happen on the server itself and not on the client pc's.  I have looked at the remote server, but I would really prefer to have the full on MC interface available on the remote pc's.

Is this possible?

TIA

M

Check out two third party products:

MusicLobby from cinemaronline.com

Netremote from promixis.com

They talk to remote server but put a more elaborate interface on top of it.

I use a remote desktop interface for that. With a remote desktop program I can control the whole PC remotely.

Currently my program choice is TightVNC (http://www.tightvnc.com/) v. 1.3.8 (release candidate).
