Title: Is anyone using NetRemote to control movie playback in MC?
Post by: Jonathan DA on January 14, 2007, 08:11:47 pm
I'm trying to migrate from using Foobar2K for music and TheaterTek movies to MC for everything, but I'm having a hard time finding a skin/ccf for NetRemote that will control movie/DVD playback from MC.  Is anyone doing this yet?  It seems like all the skins on the Promixis site are for music control only, or if they do control DVD playback it's for a hardware DVD player.

I have asked similar question in the past (controlling DVD related controls such as Aspect/Subtitle etc. using mouse with or without Girder) but I haven't heard any answers yet.

Actually the de facto standard for NetRemote control is music with MC and DVD playback with Zoom Player, not a hardware player. But anything should be possible with a combination of Girder and NetRemote and MC, I even control my 10 year old son with those! Puttin on a Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings audio book makes him shut up! ;)

Hmm, well I guess I'll have to create my own interface then.  I don't use ffdshow, so there shouldn't be any difference in image quality between ZoomPlayer/TheaterTek and MC since MC can access the same decoders the other apps use.

You shouldn't have to create your own interface, it should be possible to take a Zoom Player interface and just change the commands. Or a regular DVD player interface. You can change the commands in any interface.
