Hi,
I downloaded and installed MC12 beta today from the download page.
I have MC 11.1.201 installed and registered properly (it still works fine BTW).
When I start MC12, it says that the trial period is over and I never installed it before.
When I try to use my MC11 key to register it, it asks me "do you want to upgrade?". Well, the answer is "Maybe" but I'd like to try it first and I can't!
Can someone tell me what's wrong please?
Thansk a lot in advance.

Is your system date correct?
-
Yes, the date is correct and has not been tampered with or changed recently.

It's not a lot of help:

Are you *sure* you didn't install an early beta?
Sorry,

Zep2000 - I found a potential problem that may have caused what you see. I'm working on this. Give me a couple of days, and check back.
Thanks,

John,
I'll be interested in what you find. I reported the same problem with the trial reporting that i some time ago. I was asked about the system date and whether the version I installed was an early beta. I answered that the system date was correct and that I had installed the current version. The JRiver people who offered the initial suggestions never followed up.
I was able to install the MC 12 trial on a different PC - one that doesn't have access to my music files. I played with the trial version and even modified the Noire skin. However I was never able to try MC 12 with my real music files. The trial period ended a couple of weeks ago.
The result was that I'm still using MC 11 and I got a bad feeling about J. Rivers commitment to support.

Bill - this one was a little tough to track down, depending random events whether it would trigger or not.
These aren't always easy to find, and in the case of trialware, are usually even harder to "fix" (in a way that you get your trial period back).
I'm working on it.

Hi Y'all,
The next version (MC 12.0.149) or higher contains a fixed version of the trialware timer. Zep2000, see if this fixes your problem.
Thanks,

John,
Thanks for the quick response and the fix.
I've still got the expired trial version of MC12 on my music PC. an I just uninstall it and install the new trial version or do I need to do some other cleanups so that the new trial won't decide that I've already had my trial period.

Hi John,
Sounds good but I only see the link to version .147 and nothing more recent. Do I need a special link?

The new build will be posted shortly. There's now an initial "breaking in period" for new builds before they're released to the world. Sooo...
Patience grasshopper.
