Title: Where do I find a deinterlace filter for TV that works with MC12?
Post by: Mastiff on January 18, 2007, 03:51:48 am
I have looked at the FTP, where a very old message said it should be, and I have looked at the plug-ins page, but I can't find the deinterlace.ax version that's needed for dScaler deinterlacing of TV for my good, old WinTV FM. The version at the dScaler 4 page doesn't work at all, it's not recognized. Any help would be appreciated!

Did you try Dscaler 5008? (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=7420)

I had some luck with it on regular old MPEG2 sources.

Man, how great the tuner on that PVR USB2 is! And how sad it is that I can't use it in the kitchen because of the echo... :( Anyway, I have deinterlacing, but I have no configuration. I thought I should just put all the dScaler DI-filters in the same directory and I would get that. Am I missing something?

In TV Options, Advanced Properties, you should see "Deinterlacing...". Double-click on it. Check "Use Deinterlace". If your device supports using DScaler deinterlacing, the configure button should be enabled. DScaler filters are optional. You can put them in the same directory and you should be able to choose them. Otherwise you get some default options to choose from.

Thanks! I get that works with my WinTV FM, but not with the PVR USB2. You've got one of those yourself, do you have access to dScaler plug-ins and other settings?

Most likely it does not work with WinTV PVR series. Deinterlace.ax only works with Brooktree/Connexent based TV devices.

Weird. I'm pretty sure I have deinterlacing with the PVR USB2. It looks deinterlaced, and it didn't before I activated deinterlace. I just can't access any settings.

Edit: Are there any really good cards based on those chips? WinTV FM is OK, but the tuner isn't as good as the PVR USB2, and the image quality is noticeably weaker.
